The Nerem Name

The name "Nerem" is Norwegian in origin, and my relatives come from Alesund (pictured above), a small town on the west coast of Norway (west of the "Geirangerfjord" on the map below). My father's cousin still lives there, and we also have relatives in Sundalsora, Trondheim, and Stavanger. I am told that "Nerem" means "low valley" in Norwegian, and was used to describe the location of a particular group of Nerems, since there are many of us in Norway.
